Psalm 128:1 - ...the Lord...

the LORD; H3068

H3068 - From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:.

·         H1961 - A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist, that is, be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary.

H3068 is used 6521 times in 5524 verses – I may have to forebear reviewing each entry. J

Intriguing – Ruth, a book of 4 small chapters has 18 usages; Nehemiah – 17; Daniel only 8 (new beginnings); and Obadiah, 1 small chapter (21 verses total) has 6 references.  First usage:

Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Last usage:
Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

Middle – (6521/2 = 3260.5) based upon current OT book order:

1Ch 15:29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

Or depending on how you want to divide the .5.

1Ch 16:2 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

And caving into my OCD…I ‘had’ to number the books – the middle based upon Original Bible Order would be 2 Kings (since 1 and 2 Chronicles is at the end).  For those who don’t think it matters, try reading the Bible in the original order and see if there’s not a noticeable difference in flow.

But I digress – interestingly by numbering the books, I discovered 3 which did not have Lord – H3068.  And because…I had to double check.  J

Esther – No usage of H3068, or H430 (God).

Ecclesiastes – No usage of H3068, however a search for God netted H430 (40x).

Song of Solomon - No usage of H3068, or H430 (God).

That’s pretty intriguing – no mention at all?  Hmmm…I’ll definitely need to reread those books and pay better attention!
