Job 9:8

As I was reading through, this passage captured my attention.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Musing on the word treadeth.  Pause, go back, reread.

Flash to Jesus walking on the water.

Mat 14:24-26 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Telling the waves to be still. What, or better yet, to whom was he speaking?

If God is walking on the water, is it He who causes waves?

The storms? Hurricanes? Typhoons?

This isn't a negative question, it's His world, He can do whatever He wants with it and its inhabitants.

When, or if, we 'see' waves do we 'see' Him?

Do we 'see' Him in the 'waves' of life's ocean?  We are quick to praise in the 'ups' of life (or should be); however, are we doing so as the waves of life crest over us? Twirling us down? Suckling the oxygen from our lungs?
