Jeremiah

Jeremiah 1-3

2:14 spoiled. ..root is plundered?

People laughingly say oh so and so is spoiled. Spoiled means rotten.  Worthless. Why do we think this is amusing?

Or laughable?

Jeremiah 4-6

4:31 first child labor?

Jeremiah 7-9

Den of robbers - cross reference to?

Is 56:7

Matthew 21:13

repeating words

Temple of the Lord

Peace, peace

Jeremiah 14-17

15:3
4 destructive items
Sword
Dogs
Fowls
Beasts
3 plurals, one singular.

Jeremiah 23-25

23:20 ...thoughts of his heart...

Whose heart?

Where else is this phrase used?

Priests, Prophets, People, and Princes - Jeremiah 26-29

I was 'captured' by all the 'p's' in chapter 26...

26:24 - Ahikam delivers Jeremiah.  Who is Ahikam?  Son of Shaphan.

29:32 - taught rebellion - where else is this phrase used?

Jeremiah 38-41

39.18.For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord .
Trusting the Lord for protection and deliverance.

40.15.Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?

40.15-16. Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?  But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.

41.2. Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

Johanan was accurate about Ishmael's intention.

Jeremiah 42-45

42.1.Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,

Johanan not following the Lord.

They pretended to ask as if willing to do God way...but planned to disobey.  How oft do I do the same?

Jeremiah 51-52

51.22 With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;

Break in pieces used how many times and about who/what?
